Chosen Audio

one, True Detective.

This audio shows a contrast between simple and complex. One character is very simple and speaks very little, but also very boldly. The other character speaks very sophistically, but is also kind of soft. I think it would be very fun to contrast these two through typography. (Some of the dead silence in the middle would be cut out.) I think some of the type could be spaced out or slow while other text, while one character is “monologuing” could be more fast paced, to convey the “confusing” feeling.

audio script

Rust: ok, I consider myself a realist, alright? But in philosophical terms I’m whats called a pessimist.

Marty: uhm, ok. Whats that mean?

Rust: It means I’m bad at parties.

Marty: heh. Let me tell ya, you ain’t great outside of parties either.

Rust: I think human consciousness is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self aware. Nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself. We are creatures that should not exist by natural law.

Marty: huh. That sounds god fucking awful, Rust.
